|I don’t like the standard alignment rules. I find the Good/Evil dichotomy to be unrealistic at best. With very few exceptions (which can be typically attributed to mental illness), no one does “evil” because they believe in evil as a philosophical choice. Every culture, and perhaps every individual, has a different idea of what good an evil actually encompass, and most people and societies place themselves firmly within the “good” camp.
I have instead changed the alignment system slightly, replacing the traditional “Morality” axis with an “Empathy” axis ranging from Compassion to Misanthropy.
Gods and outsiders continue to use the traditional alignment system with the Good/Evil “Moral” axis, as they are beings of pure concept and are shaped by the perceptions of the mortals that believe in them.
